FAQs

Is this a hotel or a hostel?

Our Resthouses combine elements of hostels, boutique hotels, and social accommodation. Some locations offer dorm rooms and private rooms, all designed around comfort, community, and flexibility.

Do you offer private rooms as well as dorm rooms?

Yes. All Resthouses offer a mix of private rooms and shared dorm accommodation. In some locations there are multiple categories of private rooms. Room types vary by location and are listed on each property page.

Is this suitable for longer stays or remote work?

Yes. Our Resthouses are designed for both short stays and longer visits, with work-friendly spaces, reliable Wi-Fi, and relaxed common areas. All our locations have generators so if there is a power cut (still inevitable in Sri Lanka unfortunately), you will still be able to connect.

Are Resthouses adults-only?

Most Resthouses are best suited to adults and older teens. Children are welcome, but we do not provide travel cots or extra beds. Please check individual property pages or contact us if you’re travelling with children.

Is it social? Or quiet?

Both. Our Resthouses are social by nature, with shared spaces and communal areas, places to meet other travellers, share stories, and tips. But they’re not party hostels. Each location has its own rhythm, and quiet hours are respected.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, breakfast is included in your room rate and served daily at the café. There is also an extended a la carte menu, that will be charged as extra.

Can I visit without staying the night?

Absolutely, that's what Resthouses are all about. Stop in and stay for as long as you like.

Is parking available?

Yes we have onsite parking, with CCTV and 24hr security.
